Yesterday we arrived safely after crushin' 3 day around choatic Bali.
First think on the prgram was Ubud, an artist village with a big market and surounded by sawa's (rice fields). The next thing was Canidasa, where we had an awesome meal with a nice ocean view. The last time I was there I visited the Monkey Temple on a mountain to see the sunrise, which was one of the highlights. Ofcourse I wanted to do that again, but where could I find it... It's not a touristical attraction and I had to clue, so I asked around and luckily we weren't far. So at 4:45 in the morning the alarm clock went of we got dressed and up to the temple. It has been a couple of years but I managed to find the stairs -in the dark- and not indicated. After a 45 minute climb, we reached the top and were just in time to see the sun rise, very slowely...
It is the best place for some meditation, but then there was a sound behinde me. A big group of monkey's was checking out the strangers. That was so cool and better that the monkey's we saw earlier in the Monkey Park.
We had a -again awesome- lunch in Padanbai with fresh seafood. Drove alomng the coast down to Nusa Dua (the 5* resort neighbourhood) and Tanjung Benoa, where I did my research with school. Had a chill out on the beach of he 'Bali Mirage' and whent through memory lane.
The trip ended in Jimbaran, a fisherman's village just under Kuta, with a seafood platter (lobster, prawns, clams, calamaris etc.) on the restaurant on the beach, litteraly ON the beach.
Today I'm recovering from an heavy night, the Dutch girl with whom I travelled for a little over a week is going to Singapore today and I'm planning to continue my trip to Java.
Hope everything is alright back home, and that the weather is getting better, so I don't have to feel so guilty, hahaha.

het weer is hier allerbelabbertst, dus je moet je hééél schuldig voelen!! In Frankrijk zijn er overstromingen en in het Belgische is het 23 graden onder nul om maar niet te spreken van het Hollandse, dat ligt nu 7 meter onder de zeespiegel en iedereen is daar nu vlotje aan het varen in de Noordelijke IJszee. Dus, heb maar even goed medelijden met al die Europeanen hier...
Je kunt onderhand wel een boek schrijven over al je avonturen!

Goed om te horen dat je je nog steeds vermaakt, en dat het bij jou goed warm weer is. Hier is het momenteel de hele week nog niet boven nul geweest maar goed ik zit dan ook in het uiterste zuiden van Chili. Goede reis verder en in september/oktober wordt het tijd voor een goede pint en moeten er wat verhaaltjes worden gedeeld denk ik zo.

jo jo Tim! ik zat weer vol interesse je reisverslag te lezen...geweldig dat je weer op Bali bent!!! Ik heb daar nog een chatvriendinnetje zitten van toen wij er op fieldtrip waren. Misschien dat je haar wilt ontmoeten?!? Zo ja, dan heb ik evt haar telnummer! Meisje werkt op het Balinees Bureau voor Toerisme en is echt een toppertje! Mocht je tijd hebben voor een ontmoeting dan moet je mij dat per sms (06-10196913)maar even laten weten. Mocht het niet in je programma passen dan snap ik dat ook, maar misschien ook wel?!
