Relaxing at the Thai beaches...

Okay, okay, life as a 'true' backpacker going around the world by himself isn't always easy. The hardship of being far far away from your loved ones, the miserable surcumstances your are in al the time and the constant battle over prices with the local hustlers is taking their toll.
However if you then on a particular wake up and take a look outside and find your self in one of those places of the world, most people would rigeously call 'heaven on earth' you tend to forget all the hardship you face normally.
Of course all above mentioned is bit exagurated and I consider myself very fortunate -even in the more depressing areas- to have the wonderful opportunity to travel around this beautifull globe and to meet all the people that we shared it with. But travelling is, just like the rest of daily life, with it's ups and downs and that should not be forgotten!!! But that makes it even more special if you ones upon a while find yourself in paradise.
I am going to 'chill out' here a couple of days, before starting my next episode of travel-mania through Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam and Loas. Hope to pcik up some spiritual enlightment, do a speed course of Kite Boarding, and have a good time at the half/full moon party that is about to break loose here.
I'll keep you closely informed on my adventures of yet another grand exposition!!!

Mooi dat je ook eens een andere kant van je reisavontuur aantipt. Want iedereen mag dan wel denken dat het een eindeloos genieten is, als een homeless rondzwerven over Moeder Aarde met al haar inwoners en al haar indrukken, de andere kant van het verhaal is zeker dat je iedere dag opnieuw aan het adapten bent, je weg moet vinden en bij jezelf blijven. Ik snap dit heel goed, ook al heb ik zelf nog maar een korte trip gemaakt, vergeleken met jou. Het iedere keer weer aanpassen, je weggetje vinden, steeds opnieuw met andere mensen in contact komen is heel tof en ook behoorlijk (in-)spannend. Ik begrijp dit heel goed.
Wat ik je mee wil geven: als je wakker wordt, denk dan:
Dit is weer een heel nieuwe dag,
eentje die ik nog nooit eerder heb meegemaakt.
Eentje die ik nog nooit eerder heb gezien.
Dit deed ik op mijn zwerftocht en het is werkelijk heel grappig, dan kijk je iedere dag toch net even anders de wereld in en net even anders tegen alles aan wat er maar op je pad mag komen. Iedere dag een niuew ontdekkingsreis.
Heel veel liefs van je mom!! En, by the way, ik ben ook nog eens apetrots op je!! KUS.
