After a cold cold night of sleep, several encounters with other travellers on the market in Otavalo (haven´t seen so many ´Gringo´s´ in a while) and a nice breakfast, Carlos and I decided it was time to cross the world.
We waited for more than 1,5 hours on a direct bus that never showed. Arrived at the monument for 0´0 grades (which was a mistakenly used for years, there is a brand new one, which is actually accure, which is about 50 meter away) in the pouring rain. No sign of any museum. That was on another location...
Arrived in Quito after another 1,5 hours waiting on a bus. There it even rained harder. Got ripped of by the taxi driver, found the cheapest hostal in New Town (which was 1,5 times more expensive than we expected). So our trip in Ecuador started good!!! Teniamos mucha mala suerte!!!
We had a good Indian meal, but it was the hottest I ever had. For the people back home, that know I can handle chili, I had a pretty rough time...
Enjoyed the Celebrations of the Spanish Foundation of Quito. Which is celebrated by a big parade (kinda like carnaval in Breda) but with the local misses attending to it, no too bad!!!
Today arrived in Rio Bamba, were only tree times a week, tomorrow is one, a train departes for Alausi. This train goes through the Devil´s Nose (el Diablos Nariz)which suppose to be spectacular. We can ride the train on the roof... keep y´all informed!!!
After we hit for Cuenca and then on a rush to Lima!!! But first gonna have my Cuy (roasted guiney pig) after all in Alausi tomorrow!!!
