After a long drive in a private bus (african style) we arrived in Dwangwa, the beach lodge that Eef had planned to use for the ceremony. It was a gorious place right beside the big lake (same size as ther whole of our country) with the authentic african landscapes in the back...
There was a big delegation from Breda, so it was a nice reunion from our College time!!! The night before we had a seperate male/female night, where the girls learn a traditinal african dance and we, the boys had a speed cursus in djembe drumming. Afterwards these two groups came together ofcourse for the big finaly. It was a lot of fun, and I have to admit, the whitey's didn't do too bad!!!
The wedding ceremony was held the next day on the beach, where Eef had prepared a typically setting in her style. The bride and groom looked amazing as everybody did. It was a magical place. The substitute village Chief held a hilarious speech and made the taking of the vows spectacular on it's own.
The night was ended in a real 'Breda' way, lots of alcohol, crazy dancing and many, many strong tales of old times.
Following day, after a emotional (hahaha) goodbye, the delegation went south wards to Lilongwe and left Dan and I standing out side of the premisses, waiting and waiting, and waiting to catch a mini bus to Mzuzu. It was sunday and we were kinda scared, there might not be any transport. But luckily we were saved and a good 4 hours later arrived in Mzuzu. Tonight we'll catch a coach direct to Dar es Salaam in Tanzania and hope to reach Zanzibar after that.
Enought plans and wild stories ahead I'm sure. Untill next time, kisses,
Dan and tim
Ps: foto's will be placed asap, when we don't forget to bring the camera cable, hahaha. Xxx.
