Mi ultima semana en Antigua

Dear friend, thank you all for you responces and emails!
I´ll keep on posting my adventures as long as you´ll keep following me!!!
Last weekend I went to the beach... We left for Monte Rico early saterday morning with an assembled group of foreigners from Antigua.
After we arrived and founf a hotel to stay in, we went to the black sand beach. It suppose to be great surfing there because of the waves... and they were ENORMOUS!!! But ofcourse we had to experience them ourselves, it was pretty rough a some points, but we survived!!!
After that we had a brilliant shrimp meal and hooked up with a cheap guide for some tortule spotting later that night. Our little siëtsta in some hamacs on the beach was rudely disturbed by a gang of quads doing all kinds of stunt just before our beach bar.
After dinner (again some fresh fish ofcourse) we went on turtle spotting, and although it wasn´t the seasons, we were lucky and spotted one after a while. She took a bit to lay her eggs but after she was finished we could take a good look at her and dug up the (nearly 120) eggs for recollecion. The plan was top bring them to the turle preservation center the next morning with the guide.
The guide showed up the next morning and we went together to th center. Half way down he asked us to wait, while he went to his house... how strange! I didn´t trust him and followed him to his house, were I saw him with all the eggs on the ground. He was changing the bag, because it has ripped... I counted the eggs and almost half was missing. I ran back to the house to recollect the eggs!!! After hestitating a little he gave them back because I was very angry at that moment.
So we went to the center without him and gave the eggs to the people in charge (initially there was nobody, but we arranged someone to come) and expalained the story. We could bury the eggs ourselves and dug op a nest of just hatched mini turtles, they were soooo cute!!!
Normally they only set the minis free at night cause its a little less dangerous, but for this special occacion we could set some free at that moment!!! It was a miraculous event!!!
In the end it was a great experience and a an awsome adventure!!!
This weekend up to Cóban, Rio Dulce and the Bahia Islands in Honduras!!!

Wilde avonturen Tim, ik hoor het al er schuilt een echte 'nature conservationist' in jou ;-)
Hier in Sydney alles prima, laatste weekjes uni. Wel raar hoor om hier straks weg te gaan, je laat zo'n leven achter. Ga iedereen zo missen, maar goed aan de andere kant zijn er weer nieuwe avonturen in aantocht.
