Into the jungle

Last weekend, Cayo took me to his randfathers hotel in Villa Tunari.

We (his grandparents also went, his Jacky was feeling ill) went by car to the north. At one the peajes (toll points) Cayo had to give up the car´s details and show his licence. ´What´s the name of the car sir?´, the officer asked. Cayo replyed: ´a Peugeot, P E U G E...´ ´Say no more´, the officer told him, ´carry on´. Hahaha, it was just too much work writing that down!!!

We had some trout at a trout farm and saw the landscape slowely changing, from highland to jungle.

At Villa Tunari, an ecological and ethnological project village we arrived at the hotel. It was placed directly in the jungle which was hard no to realize because of the overwhelming flora and the pressing damp heat. It was amazing!!!
We closed the day by taking a dip in one of the natural pools, made by the river.

The next day Cayo, who did his intershipmen there and worked in the area as a tourguide, took me for a tour upstream of the river. We encountered skincleaning fish (they bit my nipple!!!), all kinds of ants, butterflies and numerous other animals... nothing dagerous (except some of the ants!!!) luckely because we only had our swimming suits on!!!

We decided to go to Donw Town Villa Tunari for some authentic nightlife. It was quite the experience. Among some hippie-like Gringo´s (whom work in reserves) we were the only white people. We drank a little, had a few dances and mixed with some locals before we went home.

Next day we went home, but on the way back we visit a local market in the highlands. Opa en Oma bought some vegetables and then we were home again.

Yesterday oma took us to the Cancha, the biggest market in the world!!! All contrabando and they had everything you could imagine!!! We walked there for a couple of hours and only saw 10% of it!!!
