Just out of the water after a very cool dive on Zanzibar!!! Can't believe saying that!!!
The 'direct' bus to Dar Es Salaam, was less direct as you could imagine. Acording to true African customs, we only had 12 hours delay on a journey of 20 hours... 2 nights on a crampy African bus is NOT fun!!! Except when your spending it together wit a buddy, and you can always sleep under the bus for a while, hahaha.
After ariving in the morning instead of evening the day before, we decided to hop on the boat to Zanzibar straight away. Well straight... also 2 hours delay on a trip that suppose to take 3 hours. Arriving there we we a little disappointed a first sight. Stone town (the old commercial center) was nice, but not spectacular and very expensive, at least well tourism aimed.
The next day we went to the north western coast of the island, called Nungwu. Again prices are steep and we had to get over that to really enjoy it. But it doesn't take long ones you're here. It is a small paradise!!! Bluest of water in all different shades of color, whites sand and the atmosphere is amazing. We decided not to run of after only one night, but to linger on at least a second night, it is that beautiful.
Zanzibar is also know for diving, and so Dan and I had to do it. It was fantastic. Visibility wasn't too good, but we saw an enormous amount of fish and some really rare ones as well, awesome!!!
Our plans remain unaltered for now. We do have some better ideas about the safari possibilities in Kenya and some good advise on Egypt (also on diving!). Keep y'all posted!!!

PS: also got a little pre-taste of Masai warriors, they're walking on the beach selling stuff, funny to see it, hahaha.

Hey ouwe gek,
Goed om te zien dat je het nog steeds doet, ik vlieg na 1 jaartje latijns amerika vanmiddag weer terug naar ´good old´ nederland. Zit nu in Mexico stad te mijmeren en moest weer even aan je denken toen ik terug kwam in Mexico.
