Much to tell!!!
So many things has happened last cuple of days. It seems that Dan and I have been travelling together for months, but we're only on the road together for 2 weeks...
First things first.
In Mulaje we prepared for mounting the mountain. Did some groceries, among it some 'fresh' goat meat from the market... Very nice especially after 2 full days kept in a plastic bag. 'Is this still good Dan?', 'well it smells okay, just cook it veeeeery long'. Hahaha. We're still alive so must have been alright.
The first day we cimbed up to 2000+ in less than 2 hours. Had a good overnight in Dan's renovated hut. Very cosy sleeping side by side next to the fire place, after a good meal (with the goat) prepared on it. And of course a warm 'shower' with fresh mountain water heated by the watch man.
The following day we hiked to the next hut in about 2 1/2 hours, where we decided to climb the peak (3000) before sunset. From 2200 - 3000 and back in just little oer 3 hours, and guys it wasn't a walkable path, but die-hard climbing. played some cards with 2 other travellers and all of the guides. Funny roasting pop corn on a fire place!!!
The next day Dan and I decided to continue our racing up and down the steaps... we literally ran down to the bottom in little over 3 hours. I never whent that fast down hill other than on ski's!!!
After a day of catching our breath (I had a little cold) we othe mini busses (which was anadventure on it's own) to get to Lilongwe, but only after check the adress details shortly before take of, cause I obviously forgotten about that... We arrived late (Eveline was kinda worried, hahaha) and had a warm welcome. We met up with Lotte, who is doing her placement here. And in the last days met all of our friends, Eve's family and of course Thando and his entourage. Dan and I took over the kitchen last couple of days, teaching the cooks how to do their thing and to create yet another of our world famous Indonesian Rice Dishes.
Later this afternoon we set of to the beach location where tomorrow the wedding ceremony takes place, but not before we have our bachelors night with Thando tonight!!!
Our plan stays un-altered after the ceremony, for we are heading towards Zanzibar in Tanzania. The firts preparation to fly from Egyte in a month an a half have already been made...
Keep y'all posted, much love from us,
Dan and Tim
