24 Juli 2007 | Thailand, Chiang Mai
Chiang Mai is a very nice city, with the true Thai hospitality!!! A place like this is why Thailand deserves the name of 'country of smiles'.
On arrival we were treated on the sunday night market where we were dropped off next to. Booked a room in one of the friendliest hostels ever and chilled out from the last couple of travelling days.
The food is absolutely fantastic got a whole new range of delicious recipes, so that's good news for the people back home!!!
Yesterday we went to an original (not one of the staged ones that are very common) Muy Thai Boxing match!!! With my history with the sport I couldn't leave Thailand without seeing one ofcourse! And it was awesome, brutal and really impressive!!!
Today I did another Thai cultural high light which can't be missed out on, a Thai massage session of 2 hours... still endulging while I'm writing this!!!
All in all Thailand has left a good after taste and might be seeing more of it a next time.
One last big journey ahead in SEA, this night to Bangkok, where I will fly from to Hongkong tomorrow morning.
A week in the most futuristic city of the world (so they say) where I'm really looking forward to and then I'll meet Daantje in Dark Africa.
So far so good, kisses and love,
Tim
